RBR, ATMIA to part ways as conference partners

June 8, 2016

RBR, a research and consulting firm serving the banking industry, has announced that this year will be the last in its long-running conference partnership with the ATM Industry Association.

According to a press release, this move will allow RBR to tailor its events to the evolving needs of the ATM sector.

In a statement, RBR Managing Director Dominic Hirsch said that the decision to end the conference partnership was prompted by changes in the banking industry:

RBR's conferences have expanded dramatically over the past 10 years. This change ensures they will continue to remain independent and relevant at a time of unprecedented upheaval in the retail banking sector.

I would like to thank ATMIA for its contribution to RBR's events over the past decade. The association plays a valuable role lobbying for the interests of the cash and ATM industries, and we wish it every success for the future.

In the press release, RBR said it will reprise its four flagship conferences in 2017, renaming three of them to reflect "the increasing diversity of self-service banking channels and solutions and the growing threat of logical and cybercrime."

The 2017 conference lineup for RBR:

  • Self-Service Banking Asia (formerly Southeast Asia ATMs)
  • Self-Service Banking Europe (formerly European ATMs)
  • ATM and Cyber Security (formerly ATM Security)
  • Branch Transformation
