RBC partners with Envestnet to give customers access to more than 1,500 financial apps

RBC Royal Bank is partnering with Envestnet Yodleee, a data aggregation and analytics platform, to allow its customers to access more than 1,500 third party apps powered by Envestnet. Customers can choose whether to share financial data with Envestnet through a direct application program interface connection rather than sharing their RBC login credentials, according to a press release.

With this API connection, customers will have a more secure method to connect with third party apps, according to the release.

"Our relationship with RBC is vital for empowering their customers to make intelligent financial decisions," Farouk Ferchichi, group president, data and analytics, Envestnet, said in the release. "Through our agreement with RBC, we are giving their customers improved access to and control of their financial data, ultimately helping them grow, protect, and manage their wealth."
