Police throughout the U.S. are warning citizens to be aware of jugging at ATMs and other locations. With this crime, a suspect will follow a victim from an ATM to steal their cash either after they have withdrawn it or at a later opportunity, according to a report by Fox News.

"Jugging is just, in my opinion, a slang term for crimes of opportunity," retired NYPD officer Bill Stanton said in the report. "Think of predators, where there are crocodiles or water creatures that hang out by the watering hole, right? And in this case, it's an ATM or an ATM-type machine."

There has been an increase in these incidents lately ahead of the holidays such as on Nov. 10, when a 70-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint while using an ATM at a Walmart in Houston, Texas.
