Piedmont Advantage Credit Union celebrated its day off on Columbus/Indigenous People's Day on Oct. 13 by volunteering in North Carolina. This was part of its Simply Service Day, which has been a yearly tradition since 2021, according to a press release.
PACU volunteered with 10 organizations in the state such as City Lights Ministry, Good Shepherd, Help Inc., Hospitality House, Second Harvest Food Bank and others. This is part of PACU's brand image of "ore than banking. It's belonging."
"These volunteer experiences strengthen how we serve our members daily," Jean Golden-Rumer, assistant VP of organizational development, PACU said in the release. "When employees see families' challenges firsthand, it deepens our empathy and reinforces our commitment to financial solutions that truly make a difference."
