OMAHA, Neb. -- More than 2 million domestic credit, debit and commercial card accounts issued by Bridgeport, Conn.-based People's Bank will now be processed by First Data Resources Inc.
This long-term agreement expands the bank's existing relationship with First Data for its United Kingdom credit card portfolio to include its domestic portfolio, which currently is serviced out-of-state by another processor.
First Data and People's Bank have worked together on an international basis since 1996, when FDRLimited started processing for the bank's U.K. credit card portfolio. FDRLimited, based in the United Kingdom, is Europe's leading independent transaction card processor.
Terms of the agreement were not released.
