The PCI Security Standards Council, LLC, has endorsed Wincor Nixdorf AG's ProClassic/Enterprise Retail Banking Solution Suite, which manages payment transactions originating from ATMs and other types of payment terminals.
"We feel this certification is unique," Reinhard Rabenstein, Wincor Nixdorf's chief technology officer, said in a statement. "ProClassic/Enterprise Retail Banking Solution Suite delivers not only the software that drives self-service terminals but also a server that manages, monitors and processes transactions from connected terminals."
The suite, through its Java Enterprise Edition Software, supports international, industry-recognized and vendor-independent standards, Rabenstein said.
The PCI Security Standards Council, which was founded in 2006, is responsible for PIN-entry device requirements, the data security standard and payment application data security standard. American Express Co., Discover Financial Services, JCB International Co. Ltd., MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc. share equally in the governance of the Wakefield, Mass.-based council.
