Large scale ATM operator, Paramount Management Group, is working with ViaClean Technologies to disinfect and protect its fleet of ATMs across the country and in Puerto Rico, according to a company press release.
ViaClean's array of EPA-registered and FDA-compliantBioProtectUs line of products provide antimicrobial protection for up to 90 days and disinfects and eliminates the growth and spread of viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and mold. The initial application to the ATMs will be finished by April 15, and reapplied every three months or sooner if conditions warrant it.
"Right now, we are living through a period of uncertainty, with cardholders unsure of the safety of virtually any payment device because of the possibility of transmission of COVID-19,"Jorge Fernandez, Paramount’s chief development and marketing officer said in the release. "Through the application of this system, we aim to diminish some of those fears by providing access to ATMs that have been disinfected and protected."
The BioProtectUsystem contains a water-based antimicrobial that creates a protective shield when applied to porous and non-porous surfaces. Laboratory testing has already shown the products eliminate and suppress long-term germs and microorganisms and future testing will begin soon to determine product effectiveness against COVID-19.
"We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with one of the leading ATM deployers in the United States, especially given their unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of their clients and team members and their industry-leading safety standards," said Jim Young, chairman and CEO of ViaClean Technologies.
