ATMIA is calling for photos of ATMs in strange and lonely places; there could be a $250 cash prize in it for you.
December 2, 2015
In 2017, the ATM will mark its 50th birthday and the ATM Industry Association has already begun making plans to celebrate this major milestone.
As part of its efforts, the organization is planning to publish a paper on "Extreme ATMs," i.e., cash machines situated in remote or unusual places (for instance, the Wells Fargo ATM at McMurdo Station, Antarctica).
ATMIA is inviting industry members to send their pictures of strange and lonely installations to ATMIA CEO Mike Lee.
The deadline for entries is Dec. 10; all entrants' names will be entered into a drawing for a $250 cash prize.
For the record, images must be genuine, so Photoshopped pictures of ATMs on the Starship Enterprise and Millennium Falcon will not make the cut — even if cash might still be around in 2254.
