CSI, a provider of end-to-end fintech and regtech solutions, announced that Citizens Savings Bank and Trust of Nashville, Tennessee, the oldest continuously operating African-American-owned bank in the U.S., selected its NuPoint core platform for its use. The platform will provide the bank with greater flexibility in the digital products and solutions it offers its customers according to a press release.

Citizens Bank became the first minority owned bank in Tennessee and began serving the Nashville community on Jan. 16, 1904. The bank was owned by three prominent African American citizens of Nashville: R.H. Boyd, Preston Taylor, and J.C. Napier.

Originally named the One-Cent Savings Bank and Trust Company in 1904 to emphasize the importance of its customers no matter their financial worth, the bank later changed its name to Citizen Savings Bank and Trust of Nashville, and is still serving the community more than 100 years later.

"We always want to honor and cherish the history and legacy we have, but we must also lead our team and our organization toward the future," Sergio Ora, president and CEO of Citizens Bank said in the release. "We can be very committed and passionate about our vision and mission, but in order for us to help people develop financial independence and wealth equality, we must have the resources and technology. CSI will play in integral role in giving us that."
