Rep. Robert E. Andrews (D-NJ) will address the Electronic Funds Transfer Association's annual conference on the future of Electronic Benefits Transfer systems and technology this fall. The EBT Industry Council of EFTA will host the conference, titled "EBT-The Next Generation," which runs Nov. 7-9. Andrews will address the conference's plenary session on the final day. Now in his sixth term, Andrews serves on the Education and Workplace Committee, and is the Democratic leader and ranking member of that committee's subcommittee on Employer-Employee Relations. Association Executive Director H. Kurt Helwig called Andrews a leader in supporting electronic delivery services. "For years, his state, New Jersey, has been in the forefront of electronic delivery of services to citizens, including one of the first statewide EBT systems, an electronic toll collection system, a proposed WIC EBT pilot, and a proposed multi-application card, called AccessNJ," Helwig said.
