Nippon Platform, Hana Bank partner on international digital payments hub

Nippon Platform Co. and South Korea-based Hana Bank have partnered to expand Hana Financial Group's global alternative payment hub, called Global Loyalty Network, according to a company release from Nippon. 

GLN is an alternative payment platform that connects financial institutions, retailers and loyalty points operators around the world, allowing the transfer of e-money and digital assets. GLN, which serves 58 countries in 14 countries, enables mobile payments, remittances and ATM withdrawals without border restrictions on a mobile device.

Several key players in the Korean payments industry are involved, including retail group Shinsegae Group, through SSG Pay; TOSS, a P2P money transfer company and SK Pay, an e-wallet company from SK Telecom.
