SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. and DALLAS -- NexTran Industries, Inc. has become the latest ATM manufacturer to offer check cashing on its ATMs through a partnership with CashWorks Inc.
The CashWorks solution authorizes check-cashing transactions through a clerk-assisted point-of-sale terminal, and links to an existing on-site ATM for disbursement of funds.
NexTran will begin shipping its new ATMs with CashWorks software on July 1, according to a news release.
"We're pleased to partner with CashWorks to offer our distributors and customers yet another innovative, value-added service on the NexTran platform," said Tony Park, senior vice president of NexTran, in the release. "This technology partnership will benefit NexTran ATM owners with an additional source of revenue, as well as a safe, secure, and low-impact way to cash checks."
The CashWorks software package will initially be offered on NexTran ComNet 4000 and ComNet 3000 models shipped after July 1, according to Park. It will be offered on other NexTran models, such as the ComNet 2000 and ComNet 1000. beginning Aug. 1.
CashWorks is also available on ATMs manufactured by Tidel and Triton.
CashWorks was founded in July of 2001. The first CashWorks installation was on a pair of Tidel ATMs at two Town & Country convenience stores in San Angelo, Texas, in January of 2002. Among the ISOs that have signed distribution agreements with CashWorks are Cardtronics and FTI.
In February, CashWorks raised more than $5 million in a B round of funding.
