Newland Payment Technology has announced its PayExplorer application has achieved Level 3 certification for the TSYS Sierra processing platform, streamlining deployment for software providers across North America, according to a press release.
The certification covers Newland's full suite of attended Android payment terminals, including the N950, X800, and N750 models. By securing this certification at the platform level, Newland allows Independent Software Vendors to integrate via SDKs without managing the complex technical and security requirements usually required by the TSYS network.
This shift effectively removes ISVs from PCI compliance scope, reducing onboarding friction and operational overhead for developers in the retail and food service sectors.
"This certification is a major step forward for Newland in North America," Heather Hatch, head of solutions at Newland NPT, said in the release. "By taking responsibility for payment application certification and security through our platform, we're removing a significant barrier for ISVs."
The move highlights Newland's aggressive expansion into the North American market. Based in Atlanta, the company is increasingly targeting ISVs and payment partners who require pre-certified infrastructure to scale quickly.
