HOUSTON -- Tidel Technologies, Inc., the fastest-growing major U.S. manufacturer of ATMs, announced the introduction of the industry's first receipt-based prepaid phone card software designed for ATM resellers.
The self-service application delivers phone card information directly on the ATM receipt and allows Tidel ATM patrons to purchase unlimited amounts of prepaid long distance in five dollar increments.
Dispensing phone card information directly on the ATM receipt is a cost-effective method for selling prepaid long distance because there is no inventory required, no additional hardware to install and no plastic cards to load or dispense. In addition, the receipt-based ATM method eliminates phone card inventory shrinkage due to theft.
This new software was developed in collaboration with Financial Technologies, Inc., an independent sales organization serving the ATM industry, and Core Data Resources, Inc., a multi-service electronic processor. The software will be available in April 1999 for all models of Tidel's new Ignition series ATMs, as well as the tds and tdm models of the AnyCard series ATMs.
