LONDON -- NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR - news) said it has completed negotiations with Spinnaker International and has acquired two of Spinnaker's ATM security products, Genesis and Sentinel. According to a news release, the two companies had previously worked together to develop the products.
Genesis and Sentinel will be marketed by a new company called Fluiditi, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NCR that will be based in the UK.
According to the release, cash is protected during delivery to the ATM, both in the vehicle and across the pavement by Genesis, as well as during replenishment and in operation at the ATM by Sentinel. Both products use indelible ink to spoil cash inside the cash unit during a physical attack.
Ken Munro, currently vice president, life cycle and change management of NCR's Financial Solutions division, has been named managing director of the new company.
