ANAHEIM, Calif. - Saying the ATM industry needed software that are compatible between machines and are Web-enabled, kiosk software developer Netkey Inc. and Scottish software developer KAL have launched a low-cost line of remote management software package for ATM machines.
The package, which debuts at the Bank Administration Institute's Retail Delivery 2001 show in Anaheim, Calif., on Dec. 11, integrates KAL's ATM operating software program Kalignite with Netkey Manager, Netkey's remote management software package.
Officials from the two companies said ATM deployers could maintain reliability while moving to Microsoft Windows platforms by using the package.
"Banks and other financial services providers are being pressured by customers to offer more online-based services in a familiar Web environment," Alex Richardson, Netkey president and chief executive officer, said in a news release. "By delivering these services through customer-facing devices like Web ATMs, financial organizations can reduce costs, increase transactional revenues, and leverage many aspects of their existing Web investment."
As part of the strategic alliance between KAL and Netkey, the two companies will sell each other's products.
KAL is a world-leading provider of multivendor ATM platform, application and management software, specializing in solutions for bank ATMs, self-service kiosks, and bank branch networks.
