NCR's APTRA ATM software earns industry certifications

February 10, 2004

DAYTON, Ohio - NCR Corporation's (NYSE: NCR) APTRA software recently earned two industry certifications.

Metavante Corporation, a financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI) that drives more than 8,500 ATMs, is certified to support NCR's APTRA Edge Release 2.0 within the Metavante EFT processing network.

"This certification means our clients are able to benefit from enhanced consumer presentation at the ATM through browser-based screen flows, display of Web-based content and support for advanced ATM-based applications, such as NCR's 'No-Envelope' Deposit solution," said Frank D'Angelo, executive vice president and group executive, Metavante Electronic Funds Group, in a news release.

According to the release, APTRA Edge also will allow easy migration to the new Interactive Financial Exchange (IFX) message format, without rewriting the ATM software application or relying on the manufacturers' proprietary message standards in use today.

The APTRA self-service software has also been certified "ca smart" and fully compatible with Unicenter Asset Management and Unicenter Software Delivery from Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA).

"Flexibility and responsiveness are critical for all integrated banking channels. For ATMs, this means software updates on-demand when your business needs them, as opposed to when someone can visit the ATM," said Steve Osborne, NCR's general manager of enterprise software. "APTRA, working with CA's Unicenter Asset Management and Unicenter Software Delivery, makes ATMs a more integrated part of the entire enterprise."
