NCR to supply ATMs, maintenance to two Indian banks

May 13, 2002

LONDON -- NCR Corporation says it has concluded ATM and maintenance services deals with a combined value of more than $10 million with two major Indian banks, State Bank of India (SBI) and ICICI Bank.

SBI and ICICI are the two largest banks in India and both are in expansion mode. Both now have more than 1,000 ATMs and have announced plans to double that figure by March 2003.

In addition to providing more than 600 ATMs to the two banks, NCR will provide maintenance services for these units, according to a news release.

According to Keith Taylor, senior vice president of NCR's Financial Solutions division, NCR identified India as a key market some time ago and invested while the market was in the early stages of development.

"This enabled us to build good relationships with the leading banks," Taylor said in the release. "We are continuing to invest heavily in this market."
