NCR opens 'center of excellence' services hub in Asia

August 14, 2019

NCR Corporation is opening a center of excellence in Kuala Lumpur.

The facility, located in Bangsar South City, will serve banking, hospitality and retail industries and function as NCR's services hub for the Asia Pacific region.

"This center delivers service excellence for complex, digital transaction networks, supported by Malaysia's reliable infrastructure, strategic location and its diverse, multilingual talent pool," Bill Bancroft, NCR's senior vice president of global services delivery, said in a news release.

Housing 400 multi-lingual services professionals, the center will enable the Atlanta-based maker of ATMs and point-of-sale devices to quickly introduce next-generation services — such as data analytics, process automation, remote diagnostics and digital connected services — that keep commerce up and running. The center will serve both large global brands as well as local neighborhood businesses.

"Today's announcement is a step forward in realizing our vision of Malaysia becoming an emerging regional hub for fintech," said Hew Wee Choong, vice president of investment and industry development at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, the state-owned agency tasked with organizing and leading the country's digital economy.
