NCR Corporation(NYSE: NCR) has obtained open financial exchange certification from Microsoft and Intuit for its outsourced Internet Banking service. OFX is a specification for the exchange of financial data between financial institutions, businesses and consumers via the Internet.The certification allows financial institutions to provide their customers with direct access to account information using personal financial management software such as Microsoft Money, Quicken and QuickBooks.
"These applications have been the predominant accounting tool for both consumers and businesses," said Greg Hanson, vice president of e-Commerce Solutions for NCR. "This enhancement will help financial institutions attract and maintain important consumer and commercial customers. NCR now combines OFX, data aggregation, bill payment, loan origination, and other services in a unique outsourced model. This gives financial institutions greater flexibility to satisfy their customer needs."
NCR's Internet banking operation is hosted at its secure e-commerce data centers in Dallas and Columbia, Md.
