LONDON -- NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) says it has signed an approximately $18 million deal with HBOS, the financial services group formed by the merger of the Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, to deploy its APTRA Edge software across a network of 3,800 ATMs.
The vendor-independent APTRA software will be installed on the 3,400 NCR machines and 400 Fujitsu machines in HBOS' network by the end of 2003, according to a news release.
Plans to roll out the software to all of HBOS' ATMs follow the successful installation of APTRA Edge on 300 NCR ATMs in 2001 and earlier this year. HBOS is the first UK financial institution to move to a multivendor open-software platform for its ATMs.
