HERNDON, Va. -- Payments 2001, NACHA's annua conference on electronic payments and business, will be held in Washington, DC April 22-25 at the Washington Hilton and Towers.
Stratton Sclavos, president and CEO of VeriSign, Inc., will present his views on secure electronic payments and its role as a foundation for e-business in a keynote address on April 23. VeriSign is a leading provider of Internet trust services, including domain name, digital certificate and payment services. Over 90 sessions will be delivered by payments and e-business experts from financial institutions, companies, technology providers, associations and government agencies. Strategy forums will cover business-to-business e-commerce and financial services, the emerging person-to-person payments business, wireless payments for mobile commerce and shaping public policy for e-commerce.
New to the conference this year are sessions devoted to examining the electronic provision of government services. From taxes to electronic benefits transfer, from electronic procurement to vendor payments, government agencies at all levels are implementing electronic solutions to reduce the cost and enhance the delivery of government services.
These sessions will examine what is working and what is not, with special insights from public-sector decision-makers.
Speakers include: Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell; Jennifer A. Kingson, senior editor of American Banker; and Robert Litan, vice president and director of Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution.
In addition, more than 75 companies and organizations will be represented in an exhibit hall.
