A mother and son in Jamaica were released from custody after being implicated in nearly $14 million ATM theft in St. Ann. Amir Beckles, 24, had been accused of larceny and his mother Annadean Silvera, 43 of having received stolen goods, according to a report by the Jamaica Gleaver.

The pair were freed when evidence came out that Beckles had been questioned for more than three hours and was not made aware of his rights. The interviewer also promised Beckles benefits for confessing.

The defense maintains that on the date of the theft, three men spray painted cameras at an NCB branch and stole $13,750,000 from two ATMs.
