January 8, 2002

MAYNARD, Mass., and CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Stratus Technologies Inc., a maker of server technologies, has announced a joint marketing agreement with Mosaic Software in which Mosaic will use Stratus' Windows 2000-based ftServer product as its fault-tolerant platform of choice.

Mosaic's core product, Postilion, is one of the first EFT switches running on Microsoft Windows 2000. According to the two companies, Postilion is designed to deliver customer-generated payment transactions at every level of the EFT network, from ATM processing through regional or national transaction switches.

Built around Intel processors and supporting the Windows 2000 operating system, the Stratus ftServer system gives users the option of a fault-tolerant family of servers at industry-standard prices.
