Missouri man arrested following 5 failed ATM thefts

Police in Springfield, Missouri have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to steal five ATMs. Roy A. Schrickel is charged with five counts of attempted stealing and four counts of property damage, according to a report by Ozarks First.

Schrickel allegedly tried to steal ATMs from five different banks between Dec. 10 and 14, 2023. The damage to the ATMs exceeded $50,000.

Police later pulled over Schrickel on Dec. 16 after identifying one of the vehicles he allegedly used for the attempted thefts. He has pled not guilty to the charges.
