Maryland bank signs with Star Network

DENVER - Maryland-based Provident Bank has renewed its relationship with First Data Corp.'s Star Network for PIN-secured debit services.

Provident Bank has 265,000 debit cards and 180 ATMs through its 149 banking locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Star is now the primary network for ATM and PIN-secured debit access for the bank's cardholders.

"This agreement demonstrates the value the Star Network brings to our customers and strengthens a long-time and valued relationship with Provident Bank," said Debra Janssen, president of First Data Debit Services, in a news release.
