Petron Malaysia expects more customers to use the ATM MyDebit facility at its gas stations, following the launch of its second ATM contest.

General manager Faridah Ali said the first contest was launched in January this year, as a way to promote both the station and the ATM facility, according to a report in The Edge Market.

The campaign, which was officiated by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, enticed customers to use their ATM card instead of paying for their gas with cash or credit. Instead of prizes, the ATM cardholder has the normal RM200 fee (US$ 48) that is withheld by the bank for three days for pre-authorization waived by PayNet.

"I commend the collaboration with Petron and PayNet through this contest because this simple method will further increase the mobility of the public which in turn contributes to cash flow and income generation in the country," said Shukri

Conducted in collaboration with Petron, Tourism Malaysia and PayNet, the campaign will continue to run from now until Dec 31, 2020, and is open to all Malaysian bank-issued ATM MyDebit cardholders who purchase fuel in a single receipt at any of Petron's outside payment terminals nationwide.
