Loomis, a cash management company, has entered into a tender offer agreement to acquire Hermes Transportes Blindados S.A., a cash management company based in Peru. Under the agreement, Loomis will offer a public tender offer for up to 100% of the company's shares with a value of around $4 billion, according to a press release.
Hermes provides transport, security management and processing for cash, precious metals and minerals. It also performs ATM management and employs around 3,200 people.
"Today we have reached a strategic milestone. Through our most significant acquisition to date, we are entering the Peruvian market. As the leading player in the industry, Hermes has a proven track record of growth, profitability and innovation. Peru has one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America, supported by a solid macroeconomic environment and increasing cash usage. I am delighted to welcome more than 3,200 new colleagues to Loomis," Aritz Larrea, president and CEO of Loomis, said in the release.
With this acquisition, Loomis aims to strengthen its position in Latin America, including supporting Hermes' logistics within the mining industry.
