Schubert Jonckheer & Kolbe LLP is investigating a major data breach that impacted 500,000 members of Patelco Credit Union. Hackers targeted the credit union with a ransomware attack, which gained access to the union's systems and demanded a ransom payment, according to a press release.
During this event, members were unable to access e-payments, direct deposits and transfers, statement balances and online banking. Patelco also didn't inform members whether private information was stolen by hackers.
Due to the risk of identity theft and fraud, the law firm states that members may be entitled to money damages, according to the release.
