Los Angeles authorities are warning of a rise in ATM jugging. With this crime, the suspect watches someone withdraw cash and then robs them afterwards, either at the bank or at a different location, according to a report by CBS News.
The Bell Police Department said in a Facebook post that at times, suspects will deflate the victim's tires and steal the cash when they pull over.
In order to avoid these attacks, police recommend not withdrawing a "large amount of cash when you visit the bank alone. Suspects are more likely to target a person who is unaccompanied."
In addition, customers should make sure to watch out for any suspicious individuals around them.
