Keybank announced that its financial wellness Key Secured Credit Card program gained 2,800 more clients as graduates, bringing the total to more than 30,900 people since the bank launched the program in 2019. With this program, customers can improve credit history, savings and learn good money habits, according to a press release.

The program is designed to help customers build credit and savings, as when customers start the account, they must make a deposit into the Key Active Saver account. The Key Secured Credit Card reports clients' history to credit bureaus and there is no monthly maintenance fee for the Key Active Saver account.

When customers graduate form the program, their card is upgraded to an unsecured credit card and the holds to their funds in their Key Active Saver Account are released.

"In our current economic environment, Americans are working to build their financial resiliency," Dan Brown, director of consumer product management at Keybank, said in the release. "Through the lessons learned and goals set in the Key Secured Credit Card program, these graduates have empowered themselves with the necessary skills to help them on their financial paths."
