Keybank announced a $400,000 investment for NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania to improve homeownership and financial security in the region, particularly with Black citizens. This grant is part of its overall $40 billion commitment to all of its communities, according to a press release.
NeighborWorks aims to work with many nonprofit, development and business partners that will, in turn, refer 400 prospects to NeighborWorks. It also aims to hold 550 counseling appointments, deliver HUD-certified homebuyer education to 250 prospective buyers and provide down payment and closing cost assistance for 160 buyers.
"Keybank's purpose is to help the communities we serve thrive. Accessibility to homeownership is a crucial element of thriving communities," Victor Laurenza, Western Pennsylvania market president, Keybank, said in the release. "We are excited to partner with and support NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania in their mission of promoting stable, vibrant communities by providing equitable and comprehensive homeownership services."
