Kentucky county sheriff warns of ATM theft spree

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department in Kentucky has warned businesses to keep an eye on their ATMs due to a spree of ATM thefts. Officials said they are monitoring a group that has damaged or stolen from ATMs in Knox, Laurel and Whitley counties, according to a report by WYMT.

"The thefts are occurring after the business has closed. We are actively patrolling multiple gas stations and convenience stores," official said in the report.

The department has told businesses to check security systems to ensure they are working properly.
