Kazakhstan unveils Evo stablecoin through Solana, Mastercard

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has introduced the Evo stablecoin which is tied to its tenge currency.
The bank partnered with Solana, Mastercard, Eurasian Bank and the Intebix crypto exchange to create the stablecoin, according to a report by Coin Telegraph.
Solana provided its blockchain for the stablecoin, while Mastercard will connect it with global stablecoin issuers.
"The project is part of the National Bank's strategy to build a national digital asset ecosystem, fostering innovative digital tools and the development of Kazakhstan's digital asset market," the bank stated in an announcement.
The National Bank will provide the regulatory regime for the stablecoin. Kazakhstan is a major leader in the cryptocurrency space, as it is one of the largest bitcoin mining countries and its government is considering a central bank digital currency.
