EDINBURGH, Scotland -- KAL announced record sales figures for the year 2000 of web-enabled, multi-vendor software for self-service machines (ATMs and kiosks) based on Microsoft's NT technology.
The company reported shipments of 3,300 units of their Kalignite product. According to a company press release, the record total reflects a substantial year-on-year growth for KAL in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region as well as in the U.S. The EMEA region attributed for over 55 percent of all shipments, while North America contributed about 35 percent, and shipments to South America and Asia-Pacific accounted for the remaining 10 percent.
Additionally, KAL announced that there were 20 new Kalignite-based applications deployed by their customers during 2000, including new ATM, bill payment, gift certificate, and e-commerce applications.
KAL's Kalignite system is a Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000 component based software suite that uses industry standards such as XFS to provide a framework for developing self-service applications.
