JCB excavator used in UK ATM theft

Police in Lincolnshire, England are investigating a destructive ATM theft, when a group used a stolen JCB excavator to remove an ATM from the wall of a Lloyds Bank branch in Horncastle, according to a report by the BBC.

The branch was heavily damaged during the attack. Police believed the JCB was stolen from a nearby location.

"This type of crime is very unusual for Horncastle and please be reassured we will do all in our power to seek out those responsible and bring them to justice," Detective Inspector Paul Sands said in the report.

It is unclear if any cash was removed from the ATM.
