Monett, Missouri-based Jack Henry & Associates Inc., a provider of technology and payment processing services tor the banking industry, announced that Mark Forbis will retire as executive vice president and chief technology officer as of Nov. 15.
Forbis, who began his career in 1982, with Systemics, which later became Fidelity National Information Services Inc. (better known as FIS) was originally named vice president and CTO at Jack Henry in 2006. He was promoted to executive vice president in July 2018.
"Mark's commitment to our company's progress has been palpable at Jack Henry for decades," David Foss, president and CEO of Jack Henry, said in the release. "While I'm excited for this new chapter of his life, his dedication and expertise will be missed."
Foss said the company was grateful for Forbis' "significant contributions" to the company and industry and said he leaves behind strong teams that position the company for future success.
Effective on Forbis' retirement, Ted Bilke, vice president of Jack Henry and president of Symitar, a division of Jack Henry, will become the CTO of Jack Henry, and Greg Adelson, vice president of Jack Henry and general manager of JHA Payment Solutions, will be named to a newly created position of chief operating officer.
The infrastructure of Jack Henry, FIS and Fiserv Inc. makes up much of the technology foundation of the modern banking system, especially for smaller banks.
