Irish CIT workers, management reach agreement in ATM security dispute

Business World: The dispute at Brinks Allied that disrupted cash deliveries to ATMs has ended. Workers voted by 35 to 25 to accept the latest proposal from the company, which Security Services Branch Secretary Kevin McMahon said addressed SIPTU's main concerns over health and safety issues. Under the new agreement, cash will be transported to ATMs using smoke/dye boxes, which crew members will not be able to access; cash will be destroyed if unauthorized tampering with the boxes occurs. Use of smoke/dye systems will render unnecessary the "drive away" procedure advocated by management that was at the core of the dispute.
