The ATM operating environment in India is complex and must address issues that range from power consumption, housekeeping, cash replenishment and settlement cycles to end-to-end observation and the management of ATM functionality.
Mphasis Payment Managed Services and Delta Power Solutions have teamed up to meet these needs, said a press release from the partners.
Mphasis, an HP company, offers end-to-end ATM deployment and management services to 26 public sector banks in India. The company has deployed more than 6,100 ATMs and monitors more than 6,500.
Delta Group provides remote monitoring services for e-surveillance, asset management and energy optimization, managing more than 5,000 sites over its bi-directional remote management platform.
According to the release, the alliance will result in a single user interface that provides a 360-degree view of an ATM and its site — including both security and power use.
The combined offering will include theft prevention and deterrence, as well as reduced energy expense and proactive maintenance that can help ensure higher ATM uptime, the release said.
"The cost of sustaining a profitable ATM channel seems to be a burgeoning challenge for most banks due to recurring components," said Puneet Bhirani, Mphasis EVP and head of payment managed services. "Mphasis and Delta aim to bring together unparalleled synergies to overcome the current industry challenges."
