An Indian bank slice has opened its second branch in Gurugram. The branch is powered by the Unified Payment Interface, an instant payment system for peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions in India, according to a press release.
The branch features a UPI-enabled ATM for withdrawing, depositing or transferring money without a need for an account number or debit card. Customers can scan a QR code to complete the transaction. The branch also features a self-service kiosk to learn more about banking products.
"At slice, we're building for a future where banking feels effortless, whether it's on your phone or at a branch near you," Rajan Bajaj, founder and executive director of slice, said in the release. "Gurugram represents the future of urban India. It's young, aspirational and digital-first. With this new UPI-powered branch, we're turning a traditionally slow and complex experience into something fast, intuitive and built for real life."
