CHICAGO -- The Electronic Funds Transfer Association introduced the new officers of its working group, the Independent ATM Services Council (IASC) for the upcoming business year.
EFTA Executive Director H. Kurt Helwig announced the results of the Council's recent election in Chicago during the Association's participation in the annual CardTech/SecureTech industry conference and exhibition.
Steven M. Wright, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Card Capture Services, Inc., was elected council chairman. Wright will be joined by Neil Johnson, president of International Merchant Services, Inc., who will serve as first vice chairman, and Charles Fote, executive vice president of First Data Corp., who will serve as second vice chairman. Bob Cannon, president of Momentum Cash Systems, was elected secretary of the council.
"I congratulate Steve and his newly elected officers," said Helwig. "In leading their own companies they have shown energy, creativity and knowledge of the marketplace that I know they will bring to the council."
The Independent ATM Services Council represents companies and individuals involved in ATM commerce. The council's mission is to promote a free-enterprise environment for electronic-funds transfer and ATM services through the open exchange of opinions vital to the ATM and EFT industry, legislative and regulatory analysis and advocacy of best practices for the industry.
The Electronic Funds Transfer Association is an inter-industry trade association providing leadership for the advancement of electronic payment systems and commerce. Its members include card organizations, financial institutions, payment technology firms and virtually all shared ATM/EFT networks in the U.S.
