ICICI Bank of India, working with government authorities, has deployed two mobile ATM vans stopping in several areas in Mumbai. The van allows residents in these areas to do their regular banking activities while still maintaining social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an article in Business Traveller.
The vans will continue to be in operation during the pandemic lockdown and offer all the services available at regular ATMs including withdrawing cash, transferring funds and making deposits.
The bank has also introduced mobile ATM vans in Chennai and Noida, in addition to Mumbai with plans to introduce the mobile service in other cities as well.
ICICI has a network of 5,275 branches and 15,589 ATMs across India.
