SAN FRANCISCO -- iATMglobal, a developer of software that enables e-commerce goods and services to be distributed over ATM networks, is partnering with QIXO, a developer of a real-time comparison and booking engine for airfares, hotel rooms and car rentals, to distribute discount air travel and hotel rooms at ATMs.
iATMglobal hopes to deploy QIXO's products through more than 25,000 ATM machines globally by the fourth quarter of 2001.
The centerpiece of the partnership is iATMglobal's e-commerce enabling software, RAAP (Remote Access Application Protocol). The software's open protocols allow e-commerce companies to easily migrate their current Web-based distribution channels onto ATMs.
QIXO has developed a technology that intelligently integrates multiple travel Web sites into a single interface, dramatically increasing the efficiency of the online market for travel. By building its entire data content in XML, QIXO is able to readily migrate the content of existing travel sites to the RAAP environment, thus enabling travel e-commerce through iATMglobal's network of ATMs.
"iATMglobal believes that QIXO is an exceptional provider of discount air travel because of their unique search technology and their overall commitment to promoting our partnership," said Shami Patel, president of iATMglobal. "We look forward to working closely together to develop the ATM as a leading channel for distributing discount air travel products and services."
