I-design earns notice for 'Favorite Transaction' ATM shortcut

October 2, 2013

Scotland-based software developer i-design has announced that its "Favorite Transaction" ATM initiative has been nominated for a major industry award. The ATM screen shortcut has been selected as one of only three finalists in the "Cash Initiative of the Year" category of the FSTech and Retail Systems Payment Awards 2013, according to a news release.

The intelligent joono FT software from i-design "learns" a customer's ATM habits, then automatically presents that individual's most common transactions on future ATM visits, offering convenience and time-savings — without manual setup by the customer.

I-design partnered with the U.K.'s Nationwide Building Society in October 2012 to introduce Favorite Transaction.

A year on, the program has garnered 76 percent user uptake and now operates across the entire Nationwide network of 1,300 ATMs, the i-design release said.

"These awards are known for identifying companies who have implemented outstanding payments initiatives and cutting-edge projects, and this nomination puts i-design right at the top of the pack," said i-design managing director Ana Stewart.

Award winners will be announced at a dinner and ceremony in London on Nov. 14.
