HSBC plans U.S. expansion

Datamonitor: United Kingdom-based bank HSBC is expanding its U.S. branch network by 10 percent this year. The bank already has 400 branches in the States, mostly in the New York state area. HSBC now plans to open 40 more branches and make a $30 million investment in a new U.S. corporate headquarters in Chicago.
