Honduras installs first Bitcoin ATM

TGU Consulting Group has installed the first Bitcoin ATM in Honduras last week. This machine, called "la bitcoinera" allows users to purchase bitcoin and Ethereum with lempira currency, according to a report by Reuters.

TGU installed the machine in an office tower in the city of Tegucigalpa. Users can purchase the cryptocurrency by scanning official identification and entering data such as a phone number.

TGU deployed the ATM as a way to provide a safer alternative to purchase bitcoin other than peer-to-peer, Juan Mayen, chief executive of TGU said in the report.
