Associated Press: Premier Banks in Maplewood, Minn., said May 31 that there's no proof hackers stole information from Premier customers. Users of Premier's Web site were allegedly diverted to a phony site that asked them to enter personal information. Premier president Mark Novitski said the Web site was immediately shut down after a customer reported the problem.
Premier Banks was one of more than 100 U.S. banks affected when hackers gained access to a server operated by Goldleaf Technologies Inc. of Brentwood, Tenn., May 25. Goldleaf primarily hosts Web sites for smaller community banks.
