ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2001--Gyyr, a subsidiary of Odetics Inc. (Nasdaq:ODETA)(Nasdaq:ODETB) has entered into a strategic partnership withHamilton Safeto provide digital recorders as replacements for traditional time-lapse VCRs to financial institutions and commercial/industrial locations nationwide.
Gyyr, through Hamilton Safe and its network of nationwide dealers, will offer a rebate for every VCR replaced with a Gyyr Digital Video Management System.
According to a press release, Gyyr's DVMS products operate on a real-time operating system and combine motion detection, 60-field-per-second recording, an ATM interface and video transmission with remote management. The DVMS 100 single-channel unit is compatible with most multiplexers and switchers currently in use.

According to the two companies, many of the VCRs returned to Gyyr will be donated to schools and charitable organizations in the name of the participating end users.
