A Chicago spa that had a GPS tracking machine in its ATM was responsible for helping catch five criminals that had gone on an ATM theft spree, according to a report in CBS.
Late in the evening on March 11, a group of thieves that included two juveniles, went on a rampage in downtown Chicago breaking windows and stealing ATM machines from businesses. Once the crew had pulled the ATM from the building it was put into a truck that had also been stolen.
One of the businesses that had been broken into was a spa, but the thieves were unaware the machine had a tracking device within it.
As the thieves attempted to rob a liquor store, they were unaware the machine had relayed their position and were apprehended. All five thieves were arrested.
