Global Cash Access, Infonox team up for gaming support services

February 21, 2002

LAS VEGAS - Global Cash Access(GCA) and software provider Infonox are partnering to provide the gaming industry with a suite of technology products and services known as SupportNox, according to a news release.

SupportNox consolidates ATM, credit card cash advance, point-of-sale debit, check cashing, credit services and money transfers into one technology platform, GCA Chief Executive Officer Kirk Sanford said. Still under development, SupportNox will include device monitoring, reporting, call center management, biometrics and telephony systems.

The companies originally partnered in 2000 when GCA used Infonox's facial recognition technology in new Automated Cashier Machines. SupportNox will provide new support systems for those machines as well.

GCA, a leading gaming industry supplier of cash access, financial management and customer-relationship marketing tools, services more than 1,000 gaming properties in the United States, Canada, the Carribbean and Europe, according to a company news release. Formed in 1998 as a joint venture of First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC) and M&C International, GCA processes more than $11.5 billion in funds transfers every year through approximately 200,000 ATM, credit and debit cash advance and check guarantee transactions daily - more than 75.5 million transactions annually.

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Infonox announced on Feb. 18 the release of the Active Payment Platform, a software package aimed at alleviating congestion problems at back-end transaction networks in banks and other financial institutions. GCA is using the new software to enable casinos to access customer records and interact with them in real time.
